The Best Kids Events This Week Near Ann Arbor

This is a big week of activities. It’s the last (second) week of Top of the Park – let’s hope the weather cooperates. The JLC Booksale, this week’s sponsor, starts on Wednesday with their presale. Then on Thursday their full sale and the Ann Arbor Jaycees Carnival Starts. Plus all the usual summer activities.

Arbor Annie’s Highlights of Children’s Events Near You This Week

This is one of those weeks where there’s so much going on, it is hard to prioritize!

Top of the Park continues all week (except Monday). David Zinn will be there on Tuesday creating his sidewalk art. Let’s hope the weather is clear most of the week! We had plans to attend on Wednesday last week and were there in the rain until they closed on Sunday night.

Starting Wednesday, check out this week’s sponsor – the June JLC Book Sale with their Premium Access Day/Teachers Night. Regular sale days start on Thursday and run through Saturday.

The Ann Arbor Jaycees Carnival starts on Thursday! We love the Carnival and will be stopping by to get a video to share of all the fun.

Wednesday head to Matthaei Botanical Gardens for Wonder Walk: Summer Solstice.

The local libraries are hopping all summer long! Between the AADL Summer Game and lots of activities, YDL’s activities (and free lunches twice a week), and fun at Dexter and Saline, there’s almost too much to list (check the lists below)

We’re still waiting for the opening of the Splash Pad at Bicentennial Park (pending a successful final inspection). We’ll keep watching for any announcements. Hopefully they get it open before the hot weather returns next week.

It is strawberry season! We’ve updated our list of where to pick strawberries for 2026 (there are some changes this season). Be sure to check status of the farm before you head out. Strawberries continue to ripen in hot weather, so with the cooler temperatures this week, farms may have to close to allow more berries to ripen.
