Examples include storing your information for newsletters at our newsletter provider, providing giveaway sponsors with contact information for winners to enable prize distribution, our hosting provider. Giveaway entries are not shared with giveaway sponsors or other third parties other than for prize fulfillment.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Our newsletter is managed with MailChimp (MailChimp Privacy Policy – pay attention to the Privacy for Contacts section) The popup signup forms are managed by MailMunch – see their Privacy Policy here. Emails collected for newsletters are only used for sending bulk newsletters as a group. However, if you reply to an email we will respond. We have removed the Zip Code data that we used to request.

This site occasionally runs sweepstakes giveaways. Giveaways are typically run via a Giveaway widget, Gleam. Winners of Giveaways run through Gleam will be selected through the winner generator using a random number selector included in the widget. A link to the Gleam Privacy Policy can be found here: https://gleam.io/privacy

After contacting the winner, we may provide the giveaway sponsor with contact information for the winner to facilitate prize fulfillment. Contact information for giveaway entries is not provided to the sponsor..

If you have any questions about the Privacy Policies, please let us know.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Event & Guide Submissions

If you are submitting an event to our calendar or a guide/membership submission, we ask for your contact information. There are two sections for information – one that is only used for us to contact you about your submission and one that (optionally) you provide for publication for our readers to contact your business. On our event submission form, you can elect to have us add your submitter email to our marketing newsletter.
