Who we share your data with
We will never sell your personal data provided to our site. We will only share direct contact information with others as needed for administration of the site. Examples include storing your information for newsletters at our newsletter provider, providing giveaway sponsors with contact information for winners to enable prize distribution, our hosting provider. Giveaway entries are not shared with giveaway sponsors or other third parties other than for prize fulfillment.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Newsletters
Our newsletter is managed with MailChimp (MailChimp Privacy Policy – pay attention to the Privacy for Contacts section) The popup signup forms are managed by MailMunch – see their Privacy Policy here. Emails collected for newsletters are only used for sending bulk newsletters as a group. However, if you reply to an email we will respond. We have removed the Zip Code data that we used to request.
Giveaways
This site occasionally runs sweepstakes giveaways. Giveaways are typically run via a Giveaway widget, Gleam. Winners of Giveaways run through Gleam will be selected through the winner generator using a random number selector included in the widget. After contacting the winner, we may provide the giveaway sponsor with contact information for the winner to facilitate prize fulfillment. Contact information for giveaway entries is not provided to the sponsor..

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Event & Guide Submissions
If you are submitting an event to our calendar or a guide/membership submission, we ask for your contact information. There are two sections for information – one that is only used for us to contact you about your submission and one that (optionally) you provide for publication for our readers to contact your business. On our event submission form, you can elect to have us add your submitter email to our marketing newsletter.
Media
If you upload images to the website (only for those submitting events or guide listings), you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies for Commenters or Contributors
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All registered users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
