Spring Break starts after school on Friday. If you’re planning a vacation, have a great time. If you’re hanging out around town Arbor Annie has all the best events for this weekend and a preview of activities next week. Stay tuned for a newsletter on Sunday with all of the spring break week activities.
Arbor Annie’s Weekend Picks
With spring break starting Friday, there are considerably less events on the calendar than last week – but there are still some great events over the weekend.
One of the top picks for the weekend is Family Day! | Ancient Color at the Kelsey Museum. We always had a great time at these events. There are also several events to prepare for FoolMoon and FestiFools (Luminary Workshop and Festifools Workshop- Community Bird Building Part 2).
Sunday is the Ann Arbor Marathon. Even if you aren’t headed to the marathon, you’ll need to take any road closures into account. Road closures include sections of State St, South University, Geddes, Huron River Drive, Fuller Rd, and more.
March is also time for maple syrup events like Journey to the Sugarbush. My daughter loved the maple syrup field trip she attended a few years ago.
If you’re looking for Spring Break Camps, be sure to check our guide and register today.
My daughter and many other Girl Scouts will be out selling Girl Scout Cookies again this weekend at Cookie Booths. Don’t forget to stock up on your favorites.

Wonder Park opened last weekend. Did you see it? My daughter and I are considering it over Spring Break. As a family of coaster enthusiasts, it looks like a fun movie.
Captain Marvel continues its strong run. We saw it opening weekend. Be sure to check out our review and parental guidance suggestions.
Quality 16’s Free Morning Movies series continues. This weekend’s move is House with a Clock in Its Walls.
Other first run family-friendly movies include:
- How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.
- Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Other upcoming releases are:
- March 29: Dumbo
- April 5: Shazam!
- April 12: Missing Link
- April 26: Avengers: Endgame
Depending on the age of your kids, there may be a few other movies of interest. Apollo 11 looks like a good documentary about the mission that landed on the moon. I know several people (mostly with teen girls) who have seen Five Feet Apart.
Looking Forward to Next Week
