On the Move Again for 2024
A2 Community Bookfest is on the move to Novmeber from the traditional September timeframe. The Kerrytown Bookfest was traditionally hled at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market. In 2022 they moved to Washtenaw Community College. In 2023 it became the A2 Community Bookfest at the Ann Arbor District Library.
Join AADL for a day celebrating books at the A2 Community Bookfest! Highlights include author talks by Caldecott medal winners (and Ann Arbor based) authors-illustrators Philip & Erin Stead and novelist and e author Beth Nguyen. There is preschool storytime, book related crafts, Fifth Avenue Press Book Release party, and more.
Kid/teen-friendly activities include:
- 10a-5p Vendor & Author Fair – All Ages – First Floor Lobby
- 10:30-11:30a – Philip & Erin Stead Panel – teens & adults – 4th Floor Meeting Room
- 11:30a-noon – Preschool Storytime – Ages 2-5 – Youth Story Corner
- 1:15-2:15p – Fifth Avenue Press Book Release Reception – Teens & Adults – Multi-Purpose Room
- 2-3p – Bookfest Fridge Magnets – For grades K-5 – Secret Lab
- 2:15-3p – Finding Feedback with Brandi Larsen – teens & adults – aadlfreespace
- 3-4p – Beth Nguyen Author Panel – teens & adults – 4th Floor Meeting Room
