These Ann Arbor Turkey Trots Will Let You Enjoy Your Thanksgiving Feast Guilt Free

There are typically 3 Ann Arbor Turkey Trots from mid-November through Thanksgiving. As with many things in 2020, this year’s Turkey Trots look different. Turkey trots are a great way to work off some calories before indulging in your Thanksgiving feast – turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pie! You can run or walk in the turkey trots so they are great for the whole family.

This year Huffin’ for the Stuffin’ is the only area Turkey Trot offering an in person race. They are also offering a virtual race.

Huffin’ for the Stuffin’ is held Thanksgiving morning at Mayberry State Park. They will limit crowds by eliminating spectators and breaking the race into heats of 50 departing every 30 minutes.

A2 Turkey Trot

A2 Turkey Trot is usually held at Hudson Mills Park in mid-November. They usually feature both a 5K and a 10K with an Iron Turkey to run both races (9.3 total miles). For their 2020 Virtual Race, they are only offering an Iron Turkey – but you don’t have to run both races back to back. The easiest option to hit 9.3 miles (equal to a 15K). From running (or walking) a mile a day for 9 days (with 1.3 miles on Thanksgiving) to running the full 9.3 in one day, there are options for all levels.

Ann Arbor Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day

Ann Arbor Turkey Trot is on Thanksgiving Day and typically runs through downtown Ann Arbor. For 2020, it is a virtual race that you can run anytime during the day. Unfortunately, the registration deadline was November 1 so it is too late to register for 2020.

Do you know of other Turkey Trots or Thanksgiving themed races in the greater Ann Arbor area? Let us know and we will add them to our list.

Turkey Trots Beyond Ann Arbor

With many races moving virtual for 2020, you can join a virtual turkey trot anywhere in the US. So, if you always visit family and run in their local Turkey Trot, you may still be able to join that race virtually.
