Are you looking for Ann Arbor Fourth of July Celebrations? While restrictions have been easing over the last month, the need for advanced planning has affected or canceled a number of events for 2021. We ask all our readers to still keep precautions in mind – get vaccinated, wear masks and keep social distance when in large groups especially with those who are unable to be vaccinated.
Ann Arbor Fourth of July Fireworks
There are a few more fireworks options for 2021 than we had in 2020. However a few are still canceled or modified. Locally fireworks displays typically happen leading up to July 4th and not on July 4th itself – so make sure you plan ahead. Be sure to check our Ann Arbor Fireworks Guide to find details..
Ann Arbor Fourth of July Concerts
After a year of no in-person concerts, there are a few concerts for 2021. As in most years, the Ann Arbor Civic Band will have a 4th of July themed concert – just performed by a small ensemble instead of the whole band. Washtenaw County Concert Band is not having their typical event. Another option is Salute to America Stroll at Greenfield Village. Instead of their usual large DSO concert, they will have small ensembles perform across the village.
Ann Arbor Fourth of July Parades
The Ann Arbor Jaycees Parade is one of our family’s Fourth of July traditions. My daughter has been in the parade from age 3 to 13 – missing last year. The parade is again canceled for 2021. At the time planning was needed, conditions were too uncertain. The Firecracker 5K typically precedes the parade. It will be run this year – but at Briarwood Mall for added space.
The Ypsilanti Fourth of July Parade is also canceled, but there will be an event at the American Legion in place.
Whitmore Lake is having a parade on Saturday, July 3.
