Join YDL for a poet’s writing debut! Local writer and mental health advocate Ronald D. Henderson will tell his personal story and read from his poetry collection The Prince and the Protege. Ron’s writing and legacy showcase how poetry can encourage personal growth and wellness.
According to the author, his book is “a powerful blend of memoir, poetry, and spiritual reflection that explores how pain, faith, and purpose shape a life.” Across the story told through his poems, Mr. Henderson “traces a journey from loss and adversity to resilience” and “examines identity, legacy, spiritual warfare, love, and transformation.”
Mr. Henderson is affiliated with the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN), who work to support mental health across all ages.
The event is listed for all ages.
