We love raspberries and they are easy to pick – but require a gentle touch as they squish easily. Years ago I used to pick my own raspberries at Makielski Raspberry Farm in Pittsfield Township which has since closed.. Other than a few bushes at Wasem, I did not know of other raspberry farms until summer 2020. There are a few u-pick raspberry options near Ann Arbor.
Our family now has the ultimate raspberry picking near us! Over the last 3-4 years we have found a number of raspberry plants growing in our flower beds. We have consolidated them and this is the first year we’ll have our own berries!

When is Raspberry Season in Ann Arbor
Raspberry season is hard to define since raspberries come in both summer and fall varieties. Summer varieties are typically available in early to mid-July. Fall raspberries typically start in mid-August and September. The 2024 summer raspberry season has started in late June!
The two seasons allow you to pick raspberries with tart cherries or blueberries and with apples or pumpkins.
You can also find raspberries at farm markets during the seasons.
