Holiday Movies in the Theater

Ann Arbor Holiday Movies

There are a number of Ann Arbor Holiday Movie Showings throughout the holiday season. What is your favorite Holiday Movie? My favorite is Miracle on 34th Street. My husband’s favorite is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. My daughter really enjoys Home Alone. Maybe your favorite is Elf or A Christmas Story.

As of late September movie theaters are still closed in Michigan. Even if they reopen, my family is not ready to return to a movie theater – even one that offers social distancing. Fortunately, we already have a good selection of holiday movies and even more are available via streaming.

This year, Frozen 2 is the closest to a family-friendly holiday movie new in theaters. Frozen 2 opened on November 22.

For teens the holiday romantic comedy Last Christmas is now in theaters.

Michigan Theater

Michigan Theater typically kicks off the Holiday season with a Sing Along White Christmas on Friday of Thanksgiving weekend. Maybe they can find a way to offer it virtually this year if they cannot be open. The Holiday Classic Film Series started on December 1 in 2019.

The 2019 movies included:

  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas
  • A Christmas Story
  • Elf
  • It’s a Wonderful Life
