Are you wondering what is open on Christmas in Ann Arbor. I’ve scoured a number of places for family fun and their holiday hours. For Christmas Eve (December 24), my general assumption is that shopping is open during the day and closing around dinner time. Many other locations may have special hours. For Christmas, my default assumption is that places are closed except for movie theaters, some restaurants, gas stations, and some 24 hour drug stores…even Meijer closes on Christmas
I found the following information on closures and special hours at the following kid-friendly locations:

Pingback: Arbor Annie's Christmas Weekend Roundup - December 21-25 | Ann Arbor with Kids
King Shin on Carpenter is open!
Hi Anna, thank you so much for starting this site!
There’s a free, outdoor art exhibit open for kids and families at International Samaritan, a nonprofit in Ann Arbor which takes students from local schools on service missions to help people living in poverty.
At 803 N. Main St., Ann Arbor, International Samaritan partnered with Detroit muralist Chazz Miller to build an outdoor art installation using garbage and recycling to depict the nativity scene for Christmas, which is accessible 24/7 for free in the front yard of their office which is a rehabbed home located across from Main Street Motors.
International Samaritan helps those who live in garbage dump communities break out of poverty and stop picking garbage and recyclables to make a living.
They also built 3 replica homes located outside on the side of their office that depict the types of dirt-floor shacks those in need build using the recycled materials.
This is a beautiful nativity scene and also an eye-opening experience for kids! Parents love it because there’s no better way to get through to kids how lucky we are, especially during the holidays!
The exhibit, called No Room at the Inn, will be open through January 5th.
