Ann Arbor’s Ellsworth Park

For years I’ve driven down Ellsworth Park and seen the play structure set back behind the basketball court. But with no parking lot, we never visited. I wrote the park off as designed just for residents of University Townhouses Cooperative. But, it is just a short walk from Bicentennial Park….

Ellsworth Park Description

For years I’ve driven down Ellsworth Park and seen the play structure set back behind the basketball court. But with no parking lot, we never visited. I wrote the park off as designed just for residents of University Townhouses Cooperative. But, it is just a short walk from Bicentennial Park.

Ellsworth Park playground has a small structure with one slide with a 90 degree turn and a set of racer slides.

The structure can be accessed via a couple of stairs and various climbers. There are also swings,

On our visit (May 2026), it looks like they were finishing some work. It looks like they have added a new concrete pad and pavilion with a new water fountain.

The play structure is relatively small and low. It is best for younger kids – preschool to early elementary. For older kids, there is a basketball half-court and a soccer field.

Beyond Ellsworth Park

Ellsworth Park is next to the University Townhouses Cooperative neighborhood. It is less than a 10 minute walk from Bicentennial Park. If you don’t live nearby, park at Bicentennial Park, visit Bicentennial Park, walk to Ellsworth Park, and then back to the car. Both parks are located near the Recycle Ann Arbor and Swift Run Dog Park.
