Create a wire and tissue sculpture inspired by Louise Bourgeois’s ‘Spider’ sculpture series, created in the late 1990s. The largest of her bronze spiders was 30 feet tall. At this event, you’ll make something much smaller!
Louise Bourgeois was a French-American artist who used spiders as a central motif in the later part of her career. She thought of spiders as patient and clever, and they reminded her of her mother, who was a weaver and restorer of tapestries.
For grades 3-12. Held in Secret Lab.
