There are several options for watching Halloween movies near Ann Arbor this fall. I love a good Halloween themed movie – but not a horror movie. Fortunately, that lines up with what my daughter has been able to watch. There is nothing like seeing even the non-scary Halloween movies on the big screen.

New Halloween Movies in Theaters
This year there are a couple of wide release Halloween movies. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice makes an early debut – September 6.
The horror movie Bagman is rated PG-13 and releases on September 27.
Emagine Halloween Movies 2024
They offered Wicked Weekends in 2023. As of September 2, they still have the Summer Kids Series on their website. Hopefully there will be a Wicket Weekends announcement soon.

Wicked Weekends are back for 2023! Emagine will be showing family-friendly movies each week. While the series is called Wicked Weekends, showings are available all week with showtimes varying by day.
Each movie is $3 with Magic Pack concessions for $5.
- The Corpse Bride – October 6-12
- Casper – October 13-19
- Goosebumps – October 20-26
- Ghostbusters (1984) – October 27-November 2
Michigan & State Theater Halloween Movies
Last year Michigan & State Theater had a number of Halloween movies in October. As of September 2, they don’t have any listed in October.
In September they do have Sixth Sense, but we are still waiting for their full October schedule

Cinemark Halloween Movies
Last year Cinemark did not offer a Halloween series, but has in the past. We will watch for any 2024 announcements to see if they bring it back.

Watch Movies at Home
Our outdoor movie projector is perfect for watching a Halloween movie outdoors. Movies are much easier this time of year with the earlier sunset than in summer – as long as the rain stays away. We can bundle up with blankets and maybe light the fire pit as we sit outside for a movie. With a Roku connected to the projector, we have access to all of our streaming services.

I think Disney+ might win for Halloween shows. Although AppleTV+ has my favorite – It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
