Event Description

The Ypsilanti Library will hold Winter Break STEM activities from noon-1p on Monday & Friday during both weeks of break.

Activities are for ages 8+ (except Tuesday, December 26 which is for ages 9-12, or 8 year olds with a parent)

Scheduled activities are:

  • Monday, December 22 – Cardboard Creations – Use their Chompsaws and MakeDo connectors to design and build what you want with large pieces of cardboard
  • Friday, December 26 – Robot Coding – Learn to code with Ozobots and VinciBots. Use colors and iPads with block based codes to tell the robots what to do.
  • Monday, December 29 – Saving Songbirds – Learn about songbirds with special guests Martha the Mourning Dove and Clementine the Baltimore Oriole from The Bird Center of Michigan. Sponsored by Flight Path, a Spark of Science @ My Library campaign from HHMI Tangled Bank Studios and STAR Net.
  • Friday, January 2- Marble Mazes – Design and construct a unique Marble maze to keep, with as many twists and turns as you like
