Ann Arbor Public Schools offers Kindergarten and Young Fives Roundups for each elementary school.

For 2024, these programs will be held in person at each elementary school.

Should I bring my Child to an AAPS Kindergarten Roundup?

Good question! The flyer says they look forward to welcoming your family so hopefully it will be kid-friendly. When we attended my child found most of it boring. I suggest calling the school you plan to visit and see what they recommend.

Which School Open House Should I Attend?

Within the Ann Arbor Public Schools, elementary attendance is defined by where you live. The AAPS Attendance Area by Street will help you find your neighborhood school.

What is the difference between In-District Transfer and. School of Choice?

In District Transfer is for a student who resides within the bounds of Ann Arbor Public School District and chooses to enroll in a school other than the school assigned by their home address.

School of Choice is for a student who resides outside of the Ann Arbor Public School District boundaries and opts to attend a Ann Arbor Public School.

You need to apply for either option by the specified dates. Both are limited to schools that have capacity.

Thurston’s Roundup also includes an open house for their tuition based preschool.
