Event Description

Update – Santa injured his hand with a chain saw. He had to cancel this year’s event. He plans to return on Christmas Eve 2024

Before heading out in his sleigh on Christmas Eve, Santa will take a paddle down the Huron River in his 1930s canoe. He’ll be joined by his trustee elf helpers Jake and Boo – and a lit Christmas tree. He will try to visit with children at Bandemer and Argo.

Well the forecast this Christmas Eve shows a fair chance of snow (YES!!!) and it also shows the Huron River will very likely be open which means of course Santa is getting his canoe ready!!! Ho Ho Ho

Santa plans to start just below Bandemer Dam and exit at the dock at Argo Park

The 2022 event was canceled due to weather conditions.

Note: The event is weather dependent. If it is too windy or the river is too icy Santa may need to skip the paddle. While the snow totals have gone down since Santa’s post on Monday, the high winds and sub-zero temperatures are still a concern. We will try to update as it gets closer to Christmas Eve. But, Santa should have updates on his page.
