The University of Michigan Museum of Natural History typically holds a Family Halloween Party the Sunday afternoon before Halloween. While they reopened in April, they are still working to open the remaining exhibits in November. So, they are not having a party this year. So, we have 5 alternate suggestions for this weekend.
Other Museum Halloween Parties
On Saturday, there are two other museums holding Halloween events.
Yankee Air Museum Halloween Spooktacular
The Yankee Air Museum’s Halloween Spooktacular is Saturday from 10a-3p. Their event includes games and hands-on activities from the Ann Arbor Hands-on Museum. Weather pending they will also have a helicopter candy drop.
Check out our review of visiting the Yankee Air Museum.
Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum – Monster Mash
This weekend the Ann Arbor Hands-on Museum is holding ScienceFest – Monster Mash. Stop by on Saturday or Sunday to make a mummy, become Dr Frankenstein, make monster tracks, and more. Activities are free with admission (or membership).
Sunday Afternoon Halloween Events
Kerrytown Market Halloween Parade
The Kerrytown Market and Shops are holding a Halloween Parade and Spooky Fun! event from 11a-1:30p. The parade will be at 1p, but there will be crafts, donuts, cider and trick or treating.
Ann Arbor District Library Costume Contest
The AADL Costume Contest is from 12:30-3p at the Downtown Branch. They’ll be handing out lots of awards.
Halloween Concert at Hill Auditorium
The Halloween Concert has been on my to-do list for years. It never seems to work out with other commitments or nap time when my daughter was younger.
