We are big LEGO fans in our house. My daughter’s first birthday present was a LEGO/Duplo table that is still in our family room 15 years later. Our family room built-ins are decorated with various sets she has built over the years including the Saturn V, Space Shuttle, and various motorized Technic sets. And as big Disney fans, the Cinderella’s Castle set decorates our basement.
Ann Arbor LEGO Store
In December 2024, Ann Arbor got a store focused on LEGO! Bricks and Minifigs Ann Arbor is located at 5204 Jackson Rd, Suite A. They have new sets, retired sets, bulk pieces and more. It’s the perfect place to trade your old LEGO.
The nearest LEGO Store is in Troy. We were there opening weekend in 2010.

There are two premier annual LEGO Events in Ann Arbor that we love – the AADL LEGO Contest and Brick Bash.
LEGO Brick Bash
LEGO Brick Bash is an annual LEGO celebration held as a fundraiser for Skyline High School Bands. Come see amazing creations and do some building of your own. It returns in 2023 after a 2 year break (2021 & 2022 due to COVID).

Beyond Ann Arbor
LEGOLAND Discovery Center
There is a LEGOLAND Discovery Center at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills, MI. They offer lots of LEGO activities including LEGO themed rides, movies, miniland, LEGO Character Meets, and more. Be sure to check your packages of LEGO for coupons to the Discovery Center. Typically LEGOLAND Discovery Centers are better for younger kids.
The Robot Garage
The Robot Garage is a LEGO themed facility with a location in Birmingham. They offer drop-in play, classes, kids night out, and camps. My daughter and I visited in 2011 when they first opened. She had a great time visiting – and I wish they had a location closer to Ann Arbor. Their kids night out programs would be a good choice for an Ann Arbor family. Parents can enjoy a night out in Birningham while the kids play.
Other Locations
We will keep our eye out for other upcoming exhibits at nearby museums. We have seen several great LEGO Exhibits at The Henry Ford in Dearborn over the years.
