Ya'ssoo Greek Festival Family Guide - St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, stage with Ya'ssoo sign, spanakopita, & gyro

Opa! Family Guide to the Ya’ssoo Ann Arbor Greek Festival

Join St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church for the annual Ya’ssoo Greek Festival of Ann Arbor each June (June 5-7, 2026). This annual tradition brings the irresistible aromas of sizzling souvlaki, the sounds of live traditional music, spectacular youth folk dance performances, and traditional Greek sweets to Ann Arbor.

Opa! Our Ann Arbor Greek Festival family guide breaks down everything you need to know for a fun-filled festival with your kids. We’ve got details on parking/shuttle, what to bring, and what to do while you’re there.

Parking at Ya’ssoo Greek Festival

FREE parking is available 1/2 mile away at Knox Presbyterian Church with free shuttles operating between Knox and St Nicholas. The shuttles were running almost continuously. My wait for a shuttle was under 5 minutes both ways.-And when I arrived, I watched the shuttle pull away as I was getting out of my car.

There is limited, premium on-site parking that is $20/car. There were cars parking in the neighborhood and crossing Scio Church Rd, but the shuttle was so easy, I definitely recommend using it instead of trying to cross Scio Church Rd. I also found it easier when I arrived on Wagner Rd without using Scio Church, compared to when I drove by St Nicholas church and the festival entrance as I was leaving.

Weather Considerations

Much of the Greek Festival is under tents. I applied sunscreen before attending, but it was not needed since I was under a tent almost the entire time. With a hot day, it was definitely nice to have the shade to avoid sunburn and stay a little cooler.

With the tents, the Greek Festival will still be fun in a light rain. If the weather is severe, I would check their website and Facebook for any updates.

Food at Ann Arbor Greek Festival

Food is a major component of the Greek Festival. Definitely plan to enjoy a meal while there – and get some sweets at the Festival.

I definitely planned my trip for lunchtime. I decided on a Gyro Sandwich and a Spanakopita. I didn’t stop by the Mezedes tent, or I might have opted for the Saganaki OPA Cheese and Greek Fries.

Of course I had to stop at the Kefeneio for some pastries before heading home. The pastries are homemade by families who attend St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. On the recommendation of one of the teen volunteers that I know, I brought home loukoumades (“Greek donuts”) and a St Nick’s Mix Variety Box to share with my husband and daughter.

I didn’t see any dedicated children’s items at the Greek Festival, ut the Mezedes tent (small plates & appetizers) offers some options for less adventurous eaters. They offer a hot dog or chicken tenders with the option to add fries.
