Event Description

This course is perfect if you’re curious about woodworking and using tools. You don’t need any previous experience to join— just come ready to learn and get ready to master some seriously cool skills! Scholarships for this class are available!

With the guidance of experienced instructors, you will use a variety of different tools in the shop: the table saw, band saw, drills, sanders, hand tools and more. SBWI instructors will ensure every student has one-on-one attention, understands how to stay safe and will guide students through every step of the woodworking process.

You will learn the same safety standards used in professional shops, which will give you a leg up if you dream of a career in woodworking, furniture making or carpentry. Also very helpful if you are a hobbyist making projects and being crafty at home.

By the end of this class, you’ll walk away with serious skills and a certification to prove it. Plus a few projects to keep as souvenirs!

Note: this class is only open to students ages 12 – 18 years. Scholarship application link: https://sbwi.edu/youth-scholarships
