The Thunder Over Michigan Air Show is July 20 & 21, 2024 at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, MI.

Unlike last year, they are offering daily admission instead of a morning and afternoon admission for the Michigan Flight Museum (Formerly Yankee Air Museum) air show.

The grounds open at 8a each day with the air show starting at 10a. There is a 2 hour intermission from noon-2p. The afternoon show will run from 2-4p. Grounds will close at 5p.

Morning Show

The morning show will feature:

• 10:05a – P-40N Warhawk “American Dream” Demonstration
• 10:15a – Extra 300 Demonstration
• 10:30a – P-51D Mustang Demonstration
• 10:40a – mini Famous Fighter Flight Demonstration (P-51D Mustang, FG-1D Corsair)
• 10:55a – FG-1D Corsair Demonstration
• 11:05a – F-18 Super Hornet Demonstration
• 11:20a – Legacy Flight Demonstration (F-18 Super Hornet & FG-1D Corsair)

Show vehicles are subject to change. They may be limited to maintenance, weather and other restrictions.

The Afternoon Ypsilanti Air Show starts at 2p.

Tickets for Thunder Over Michigan Air Show

Last year ticket pricing was per vehicle. This year, they have several ticket options:

• General Admission – $68/ages 16+ (parking additional)
  • General Parking $55/vehicle
• Drive-Up Tailgate Parking – $199 (includes admission for those in vehicle)
• Bomber Club – $99/ages 16+, $60/ages 5-15 – includes tent access, non-alcoholic beverages, and more
• Fighter Club – $170/ages 16+, $120/ages 5-15 – includes tent access, catered lunch, non-alcoholic beverages & beer, and more
• Officers Club – $320/ages 16+, $200/ages 5-15 – includes museum parking & shuttle, catered brunch, ice cream social, premium seating, and much more

Note: prices may go up as they sell out. Prices were added on 6/12.

Tips for Thunder Over Michigan Air Show

1 – Purchase your tickets early. Tickets can sell out and prices will go up as it gets closer

2 – Bring Chairs. If you have Drive-Up Tailgate Tickets, you will probably want chairs. This way you can watch the show from outside instead of in your car.

3 – Food is available for purchase from food trucks. You can bring food and non-alcoholic beverages to stay in the blue and white zones, but not on the ramps. Officers Club tickets include food.

4 – Sun protection. If it is a sunny day, be sure to come prepared with sunscreen and water. Large umbrellas are not allowed. Portable awnings and tents are also not allowed.

5 – Make time to visit the KidZone – There will be activities for the kids for a nominal fee.

6 – Portable restrooms and sanitation stations will be available near the static displays.
