Learn how to create a pattern by stamping or painting a cotton bandana, and then reveal your pattern in the indigo dye bath. We’ll work with natural indigo dye and homemade soy paste as a resist technique. This method is based on a traditional Chinese soy-paste resist technique called Lan Yin Hua Bu. This is a drop-in workshop, come by and paint your bandana, then we will allow it to dry completely and dip it in the indigo vat where your pattern will remain white and the rest of the bandana is dyed deep blue. This class is led by textile artist Meghan Navoy of Rosemarine Textiles.
