Visit the Krampusmrkt Handmade Holiday Bazaar at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse back for its 5th year. It starts on Friday during First Friday, then continues on Saturday.
Krampus is a half-goat, half-demon creature from Alpine folklore who punishes those who misbehave during the Christmas season. Krampus and his helpers remind everyone to be good during the holiday season and to exorcise any evil spirits that may be lurking.
Join them to celebrate Krampus and other figures from winter folklore, including the Yule Cat, Grýla, Yeti, and Mari Lwyd. This free event will feature a wide selection of unique, handcrafted goods from talented local artists, all with a wonderfully dark twist. From eerie prints to spooky sculptures, you’re sure to find something special to add some Yuletide terror to your holiday season.
Admission is free, and parking is available near the Freighthouse along Rice Street, as well as on Cross and River Streets.
Note: This is a dark and festive holiday celebration. Not all merchandise may be appropriate for children.
