The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is thrilled to welcome visitors back to the Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center at Waterloo State Recreation Area Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19.
Come in to see the new and improved Discovery Center and enjoy some family-friendly activities which will include a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1p on Saturday and live animal programs on Sunday afternoon at 1 & 2:30 p sponsored by the Waterloo Natural History Association.
They will also be celebrating Earth Day with special earth and nature-themed activities.
The Eddy Discovery Center has been closed for renovations for about a year, including roof replacement, atrium renovations, HVAC installation, updated exhibits and carpeting replacement. A proposed $2.1 million in federal relief funding from Gov. Whitmer’s Building Michigan Together Plan made these and other renovations possible.
Note: Eddy Discovery Center is typically open noon-5p on Sundays, but the event listing on the Chelsea Events Calendar lists 10a-4p for activities. We have listed as 10a-4p, but you may want to verify.
