The Apple Store offers free Apple Camps i the summer. These typically range from 1 session to multi-sessions in a week with each session lasting a couple of hours.

This June they are offering Art Lab for families. Your family will go on a mission about protecting the Earth. At the Store, you’ll create a comic book adventure on an iPad. You’ll imagine a story about keeping the planet safe, take photos, and add drawings and stickers to your comic book. No need to bring your own iPad, they will be providing them for use during the session.

Kids will take home a camp t-shirt, certificate, and a digital copy of their comic book.

My daughter did several Apple Camps. We found that the Briarwood store filled up quickly, but that Franklin Park in Toledo didn’t fill up as fast. She did both a movie making and robotics camp. (I only found photos from the robotics camp). Her movie making camp was a 3 day, 2 hour/day event. I will warn that part of the parent session included a “sales pitch” for the educational value of software or devices. We already had Apple devices.

These do fill up quickly, so book your slot now.
