Event Description

Join AADL for a brief lecture and short documentary film screening in observance of the Holodomor Day of Remembrance, which commemorates the forced starvation of Ukrainians by Stalin in 1932-33.

A lecture by Tetiana Soproniuk of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide in Kyiv, Ukraine, will outline the active participation of the Ukrainian-American community in the controversial discussions with the UN Genocide Convention and ratification by the U.S. Congress.

This will be followed by a screening of the dynamic film “Holodomor: Minnesota Memories of Genocide in Ukraine,” and a moment of silence for reflection.

This event is in partnership with the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, Branch 50.

For teens & adults. Held in lower level program room.
