The Ann Arbor 4-H Youth Show is held every year the third week of July. For 2024, the show is July 21 through 26.

The fair is July 19-24, 2026 (Sunday-Friday)

There are so many showings, judgings, and auctions of livestock that the hours are super generous. Each day starts at 8a. The 2026 schedule is available in the Youth Show Book on their website.

Admission (and Parking) are FREE!

Food & Drink – (Info from past years)

The Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds have a kitchen where they serve food every day. And ALL the proceeds go to scholarships for 4-H kids.

Note: Food & Drink purchases have been CASH ONLY in previous years.

Animals

There are all sorts of animals at the 4-H fair: alpacas, goats, sheep, pigs, cattle, chickens, rabbits, and more.

My rules for my kids around the animals: Be cautious and courteous. It is usually ok to pet the animals but it is polite to do this only if you see the owner there and can ask permission. Some animals also like to nibble little fingers or may have an excited temperament that you might not know about so be careful.

Do NOT bring food to give the animals. This can make them sick. Sometimes you will pass an owner during a feeding time but it is polite not to ask to participate. Humans can carry germs/bacteria that can be harmful to the animal or it puts the owner in an awkward position. It is better to just watch and, if appropriate, pet but not feed the animals.
