Greenfield Village is debuting a new weekend event in 2026 – All Aboard Adventure. This event is a replacement for their traditional Day Out with Thomas Weekends held in May. In March we were disappointed to hear that Thomas the Tank Engine can no longer visit Greenfield Village due to a mechanical issue with the version that can run on their historic tracks.
Toot!Toot! Thomas the Train Is Skipping Greenfield Village in 2026
Day Out with Thomas at Greenfield Village is great fun for kids who love Thomas the Train. The highlight of the day is a train ride pulled by Thomas.
All Aboard Adventure at Greenfield Village
All Aboard Adventure is a village-wide family-friendly celebration of steam, big machines and classic play.
Join the kids to ride the steam and diesel train to their heart’s content with free rides during the event! The only limit is how long it takes to go back through the line. (Note the train line may close as early to 3:30p to make sure everyone has time to get through the line).
Help maneuver the historic DT&M Roundhouse turntable. My daughter loved getting to do this when she was younger.

You can also push a discovery railcar, or sit in the cab of the 1897 D&LN #7 locomotive. And you can watch a working crane in motion.
The weekend will include special behind-the-scenes access to bring railroading to life in ways rarely seen.
All Aboard Adventure is May 16 & 17:
