At the end of the school year, most of the Ann Arbor elementary schools hold an all-school social event that is typically a fundraiser. Most schools call the event an Ice Cream Social, but there is the Wines ROAR, Allen Country Fair, and other names at each school.
If your child will be starting Kindergarten or moving to a new school next year, this is the perfect chance to meet the school community and learn about the school culture. My daughter attended Ann Arbor Open, and has returned while in high school to volunteer.
Attending an event at another school can be a great way to help their fundraising efforts while having a fun family evening. Unfortunately, most of the events are typically the last Friday in May or the first Friday in June making it difficult to attend a variety of events.
