If your daughter is like mine and pours over the American Girl catalogs as soon as they arrive, I am sure she is already familiar with Saige, the 2013 Girl of the Year.
Saige is from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Since we visited New Mexico this summer, my daughter is interested in her story. She likes to ride her horse Picasso and paint. You and your daughter can learn more about Saige on the American Girl website. There is also a chance for kids to win a Saige doll and her hot air balloon set by creating their own hot air balloon design on the template. Kids have to be between 8 and 13 to enter, so I have been trying to hide the contest from my just-turned 7 year old.
Barnes & Noble in Huron Village Shopping Center will have an Introducing Saige event on Wednesday, February 20 at 6p. They will be designing a desert scene and making other fun crafts.
Last year, we attended the Introducing McKenna event. My daughter enjoyed getting out with her doll last year and meeting friends and their dolls to learn about McKenna. I know my daughter will want to attend again this year.
In addition to the games on the American Girl website, my daughter enjoys the American Girl games for the iPod Touch an the iPad, including the Saige game. Most of the American Girl games are free.
