I love having carved or decorated pumpkins, but I hate the mess. Fortunately, there are a number of Ann Arbor Pumpkin Decorating Events this season.

I love having decorated pumpkins, but we always seem to run out of time. Plus, pumpkin carving creates a huge mess.

There have been years that we have carved our pumpkins right before trick or treat. Other years, we haven’t carved pumpkins.

Fortunately, there are a number of events that include pumpkin decorating or carving. Mark your calendar now. Then, let someone else deal with the mess. Plus, you’ll set aside the time to decorate your pumpkins.

🎃Pumpkins on the Patio

Maiz Mexican Cantina – 36 East Cross St Ypsilanti
Time: 4:30pm-7:30pm
Cost: $5/their pumpkin, Free if you bring a pumpkin
Join Maiz for some #FirstFridayFun at their debut collaboration with SCRAP Creative Reuse! They will have pumpkin decorating on the back patio. All craft/art supplies will be provided, however, feel free to bring your own too! Please leave your pumpkin carving tools at home, as this is an all ages event & they want to keep everyone safe! You have the option to bring your own pumpkin & participate free of charge, or purchase a pumpkin from them for $5. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for ALL participants. Provided supplies included, but not limited to: hot glue guns, small decorative items, paint, paint brushes, ….

🎃Preschool Pumpkin Hunt

Saline Rec Center – 1866 Woodland Dr Saline
Time: 10:00am-11:00am
Cost: $14/child
The Saline Rec Center is continuing their annual Preschool Pumpkin Hunt this year. Hunt for mini-pumpkins outside at Miller Field behind the Rec Center. Then, they can decorate their pumpkin. There will be a story told by a storyteller from the Saline Library. There will also be a snack. The event is for kids ages 1-5. Babies under 1 are free but will not get a pumpkin. Registration is required and is $14/child.

🎃Pumpkin Carving Party

Hudson Mills Metropark – 8801 N. Territorial Rd Dexter
Time: 2:00pm-3:00pm
Cost: $6/person plus vehicle admission ($10 daily) or annual pass
Join Hudson Mills Metropark for a Pumpkin Carving Party. Pick your pumpkin, then choose a design and have fun carving it. Finish with a cup of cider and a donut. Admission includes one pumpkin and refreshments. Registration is required by 4p 3 days before the program.

🎃Creatures of the Night - Trail Walk

Lillie Park South – 4365 Platt Rd Ann Arbor
Time: 6:00pm-8:00pm
Cost: $10/Pittsfield Resident, $15/Non-Resident (Children only, adults are free)
Pittsfield Township is hosting a Creatures of the Night Trail Walk for Halloween. Start by painting a pumpkin, then special creepy guests from a local animal conservancy. Take a short walk through the Lillie Park South on an all ages trail hike looking for nocturnal animals, learning cool facts, and seeing other creatures of the night. The night will wrap up with a trunk or treat. Costumes are optional, but encouraged. Space is limited, so register early. Children are $10/Pittsfield resident, $15/non-resident. Adults are free. There will be 2 sessions - one starting at 6p and one starting at 7p. ….
