There will be the opportunity for petting reindeer or taking pictures with reindeer near Ann Arbor.
Ann Arbor Live Reindeer Appearances
There are several options for seeing real Reindeer near Ann Arbor at any time – not just at an event. Unfortunately, the nearest Reindeer farms I found are in Kalamazoo and Frankenmuth.
- Frankenmuth – Grandpa Tiny’s Farm – Santa’s Reindeer Farm – November 18-December 17
- Kalamazoo – Reindeer Ranch – Take their Reindeer Tour throughout the year. Between Thanksgiving & Christmas, you can add a visit with Santa on weekends
Sven, the Creature Conservatory’s Reindeer typically appears in their Creature Feature on Saturdays and Sundays in December. They are open noon-5p on Saturday and Sunday. As of November 4, the November animal is a Wild Turkey. We will check closer to November to see if the reindeer return.
The Toledo Zoo has had reindeer in the past. But they are no longer listed in the list of animals on their website.

Ann Arbor Live Reindeer Events
Reindeer events include free events where the reindeer are the focus as well as ticketed events where they are a small part of the event.
Holiday Nights at Greenfield Village has reindeer near Santa. Unfortunately, tickets sold out quickly and are not available. But, if you have tickets, be sure to stop by and visit the reindeer.
