The Michigan Flight Museum was empty the day we visited (during Winter Break January 2018). You can climb in some of the planes kept indoors. There are also some planes outdoors (although we visited on a frigid day and skipped those). We did see outdoor planes on Memorial Day events when my daughter was younger.
