About the A2SO KinderConcerts
Learn more about the KinderConcerts with excerpts from their 2018 press release:
Each year, more than 25,000 kids experience the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra in their schools, libraries and communities. Through these interactions they grow their musical curiosity, they grow their listening skills, and they grow their love of music. This September starts again the program serving the communities youngest listeners at local libraries, the KinderConcert Program. KinderConcerts happen three times a year at the Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter and Ypsilanti libraries. They introduce kids age 0-5 to the different instruments in the symphony with a combination of music and motion. Each session features music & movement specialist Gari Stein, pianist Kathryn Goodson and a featured musician from the orchestra!

Our Experiences with A2SO KinderConcerts
My daughter and I attended a few KinderConcerts when she was a toddler and preschooler. It was quite a few years ago as she is now in 6th grade. She loved listening to the different instruments and dancing with Gari Stein.
Last spring I returned to a KinderConcert to experience it again. All of the kids were having a great time learning about the instruments and dancing to the music.

A2SO Pops Series
Over the years, we have enjoyed A2SO’s Family Concerts. It has traditionally included 3 concerts including the annual Holiday Pops. For 2019-2020, they have dropped a separate Family Series, however the Pops Concerts are family friendly.
The 2019-2020 series includes their final Music of Star Wars on November 9 and Best of Broadway on March 14 and 15. Holiday Pops is on December
Other A2SO Education Programs
My daughter’s class has attended an A2SO youth concert in 4th and 5th grade. She loved getting to play her recorder with the symphony as a fourth grader. I’ve attended the last couple of years as well. However, my daughter’s school has either not been there or it has just been the orchestra students and my daughter is in band.
My daughter loves their Instrument Petting Zoo. She always wants to try all of the instruments, even the clarinet which she plays at school.
