Domino’s Petting Farm Changes

from Domino’s Petting Farm’s website

Did you read yesterday’s AnnArbor.com article about the changes coming to Domino’s Petting Farm?

The long-time manager has left and they will be making some operational changes. Also, according to the article, he took some of the animals at the farm that he owned and they are negotiating keeping them at the zoo.

They will only be open seasonally and will be closing on September 2. The farm is open 9:30a-4p Monday through Friday and 10:30a-5p on the weekend. Admission is $7/adults and $5.50 for children (2-12).

Over the years I have been to Domino’s Petting Farm twice and my daughter also went an additional time this year with her Girl Scout troop. We went once as an organized playgroup visit and once as a field-trip with her preschool. Both times we had fun, but it wasn’t necessarily a place that I would go without an organized group event. Especially as it is fairly expensive ($12.50 for just my daughter and I) and we have never stayed more than 2 hours. I would rather spend extra money and head to the zoo for a full day activity and a wider variety of animals.

The article does say that they will be hiring an activities co-ordinator for when they open in the spring. I hope to see them open before Memorial Day so that they are available for field trips. I also hope to see them organize fun, educational activities for kids and families. I believe activities like these would give families a reason to visit and would generate an increase in business.
