These were my daughter’s words last year at 2.5 as we were leaving Art Fair. We had toured Main Street and stopped in a restaurant for dinner and were headed back to our car. She was expecting a fair with rides. She was quite disappointed to find out we were at the fair and there were no rides or games.
I think had we explained what Art Fair was that she would have been ok and had fun. She didn’t really ask to go to the fair sooner so she must have been enjoying herself.
So the lesson is that while we know what Art Fair means, we need to make sure our kids understand where we are going and don’t just hear the word fair.
