Congratulations to the University of Michigan Men’s Basketball team for winning the 2026 National Championship. They are holding a Championship Celebration on Saturday, April 11th. The celebrations start at 10a.
UM Basketball Championship Parade
Everyone is invited to the Championship Parade through Campus. The parade will start at 10a at the President’s House and proceed down State St to Yost Ice Arena. Fans are encouraged to line South University outside the President’s House west to the Student Union and State St south to Yost Ice Arena. We have highlighted the parade route on the map below.
The parade route will be closed at 8a, so plan to arrive via other roads and use parking structures around campus including Thompson, Maynard, Thayer, and Forest.
Let’s hope the weather is warmer than the football National Championship parade in 2024. At least there won’t be snow on the ground. I’m hoping to convince my husband to attend this parade. We were unable to attend in 2024 – I was out of town and my husband and daughter were recovering from COVID.
Champions Circle Celebration
There will be a ticketed celebration at Crisler Center at 1p. Tickets are $20/students, $30 for Upper Bowl, and $75 for Lower Bowl.
Tickets will be on sale for students, season ticket holders, and donors with 500+ priority points starting on Thursday at 9a. If there are tickets remaining, a general public sale will start on Thurday at 5p.
If you can’t get tickets, the event will be televised live by the Big Ten Network and will stream on the Fox Sports app.

Other Celebrations
If we hear of other celebrations we will be sure to add them here. I know for the Football National Championship there were other events. I happened to be at Meijer on Ann Arbor-Saline Rd when there was a rumor around the store that the trophy would be arriving. I waited for about 45 min before needing to leave.

Their arrival home celebration on Tuesday, April 7 was before we had the article written. We learned about it only 20 minutes before it was happening, so there wasn’t enough lead time to share and give people a chance to get to the event.

Championship Gear
I am sure the Crisler Center store will be open for merchandise during the ticketed event. I have also seen Underground Printing and Rally House advertising National Championship merchandise. And I’m sure you’ll be able to find it soon at locations like Meijer, Kohls, and more.
