Delays in construction and arrival of materials have caused a delay in the library reopening. This event has been canceled until the new opening date is determined.
The Michigan Avenue branch is reopening after catastrophic flooding in July 2023! See how your library has improved and enjoy circus and musical entertainment and other activities!
Drop by and see the long-awaited changes! Among other changes, the historic YDL-Michigan has added:
- 3 small meeting rooms
- A beautiful tech lounge
- A brightened youth area
Library Plaza will feature Cirque Amongus with circus props from 11am-1pm for all to enjoy, and a professional performance at 1pm. The Steve Somers Band will entertain with R&B, jazz, Motown, and classic rock from 2-4pm. Learn about the history of the library and enjoy light refreshments.
