Today my daughter and a friend attended Jump-N-Art Camp at Pump It Up in Canton. I had purchased a Groupon for two sessions for $30 instead of $30/session. The camp is for children ages 4-10. The camp includes jumping time, art projects, lunch (or dinner), and games. When you pay full price for the session, you will also receive free Pop In Playtime admission that week ($7/session value). We attended Pop In Playtime earlier this week and had a good time overall.
I dropped off and picked up, so the report on the camp is what I was able to pull from my 5.5 year olds reports. According to my daughter, they split the time up so that they did jumping time, art project, lunch, art project, and more jumping. My daughter said they had a race on the “toaster-like inflatable” (like an obstacle course) and were split into teams. I like that the activities were split into multiple jumping and art times. Lunch was pizza and fruit punch or lemonade (or both in my daughter’s case). From my discussions with the 5 year olds, there was no sides like fruit, vegetable, chips, etc. I would have liked to see something else offered such as fruit.
Each camp has a theme for its art projects and a story. Today’s theme was birds. They painted a birdhouse and also made a bird from styrofoam cups.
My daughter had an absolute blast. However, she was very confused that I was calling it a camp and she only got to go once. She was asking why I didn’t let her go all the days of camp. The other camps she has done this summer were at least 4 days if not a full week. They have 3 more camp sessions this summer. However, we have definite conflicts for the two morning or mid-afternoon sessions. The third session is an early evening session (4-7p), but she has a morning camp that week and I am not sure whether it would be too much for her.
I know they have offered these camps over school breaks, so we will keep it in mind for days she is off of school (or an afternoon session since she will be in morning half-day kindergarten).
In addition to the Jump N Art camp and Pop In Playtimes, they also offer Parents Night Out on select Friday or Saturday nights. Parents Night Out is typically from 6-9p and is for children ages 4-11. Parents Night Out costs $20 per child ($15 for sibling) and offers jumping, pizza dinner, and games with prizes.
