BOOKBOUND ANNOUNCES GRAND OPENING FOR SEPT 7TH
ANN ARBOR, September 3 – Bookbound, a new independent community bookstore, has scheduled their Grand Opening for September 7 from 11am to 8pm. Bookbound is located at 1729 Plymouth Road, on the north side of Ann Arbor in the Courtyard Shops.
The Grand Opening will feature light refreshments throughout the day and adult libations after 5pm. Free Bookbound tote bags will be handed out with purchases of $20 or more, while supplies last. Folks who bring in non-perishable or canned goods for Food Gatherers, Washtenaw County’s food rescue and food bank program, will receive 10% off any purchases.
Bookbound is a general, independent bookstore. Some specialties include an extensive selection of children’s books in a colorful & comfortable setting, thousands of bargain titles at 40-60% off the cover prices, and hundreds of new releases and best sellers. As a cozy bricks-and-mortar store, Bookbound offers a level of customer service and personal recommendations that big-box and online stores cannot match.
Peter & Megan Blackshear are the owners and founders of the store. Peter spent nearly 20 years working for Borders Books, starting as a bookseller at a retail location, and finishing with 12 years as bargain book buyer for the corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor. His experience has contributed to Bookbound’s carefully-chosen inventory and great prices. Megan Blackshear is a long-time Ann Arbor resident with a passion for reading and education. In addition to experience with customer service and marketing, she spent 7 years working for Food Gatherers, which has given her a deep connection to the Ann Arbor community and the Northside in particular.
Says Megan Blackshear: “Whether you show up looking for a specific title, a perfect gift, or a few bucks and an open mind, we look forward to helping you find exactly what you need.”
