Learn about the history of Nowruz! Nowruz literally means “new day” in and is celebrated as the beginning of the new year by more than 300 million people all around the world. Nowruz begins on the vernal equinox and is celebrated for 13 days. In the Persian tradition, the 13th and final day is Persian Nature Day! On this last day of celebrations, everyone goes outside to share a picnic with family and friends and enjoy nature together.
There will be a short presentation and then we will enjoy a picnic together in one of the County Farm Park Pavilions. Please bring your own meal, and blanket if you’d like to eat on the grass. Water and restrooms available. (Registration not required.)
