“What if the Sky Was Red” Book Review and Giveaway

Ann Arbor Author and father Mark Askin has created the character It’s Me, Tyler! to help encourage kids to read.

The newest book in the series, “What If the Sky Was Red?“, was released in November. My daughter really enjoyed the book. Even before she started reading, the title had her speculating on what it means for the sky to be red. She was betting on a different type of atmosphere and things floating off into space.

My daughter loves comedy, so the funny ways that things were switched around was right up her alley…a red sky and a blue sun,  a cow that flies and a bird that moos. Some of her favorites were the flying fire truck and the spaghetti cones. The illustrations definitely aided in her picturing the crazy swaps.

I like how the book ended with a question about what would you do if the things were true. It provided a jumping off point for discussion and encouraged kids to use their imagination.

My daughter is an advanced reader, so she was easily able to read the book. The silly switches int he book easily kept her entertained.

The book is available in paperback, iBooks, Kindle, and Nook formats.
