Hand puppetry (also called glove puppetry) is a unique folk art and popular storytelling tradition in Taiwan. In the skillful hands of masters, hand puppets demonstrate vivid, life-like movements. I Wan Jan Puppet Theater lives up to the highest standard in hand puppetry and returns to Ann Arbor after its popular show here in 2016. This story is based on an episode in the famous Chinese classic novel Outlaws of the March. Wu Song, on his way to visit his brother, passes through Mount Jingyan and encounters a mammoth tiger. The drunken Wu Song has no choice but to fight for his life. Watch the show to see the outcome of this battle! The puppet show is accompanied by live music. This event is in partnership with the Michigan Taiwanese American Organization.
For all ages. Held in 1st Floor lobby.
