Hobby and professional photographers alike are invited to join photographer Jeff Smith as he teaches skills and tips for capturing light and shadow using a smartphone.

This program is in support of the exhibit Through Darkness to Light: Photographs Along the Underground Railroad, from ExhibitsUSA, Mid-America Arts Alliance

The presenter, Jeffrey Smith, is a lifelong Michigander with a background in photojournalism, currently working as a photographer and video producer for the University of Michigan. You can find him documenting his wannabe backyard farm of chickens and bees, kayaking adventures on the Huron, and walks in the woods of Washtenaw County with his cell phone.
