On Wednesday afternoons this summer, the Whittaker Branch of Ypsilanti District Library offers Tween Scene – an afternoon gathering for kids ages 8-12 to get creative independently while parents and younger siblings enjoy the youth department or garden play areas
Weekly topics are:
- June 19 – Diamond Painting – make a diamond art keychain
- June 26 – Blind Bags – make a blind bag
- July 3 – Stepping Stones – make & decorate a mosaic stepping stone to take home
- July 10 – Herbal Skin care – make sugar scrubs and salves with herbs from garden
- July 17 – Squeegee Painting – make your own squeegee art
- July 24 – Friendship Bracelets – design and string friendship bracelets
- July 31 – Karaoke – Sing karaoke, eat snacks. and hang out.
