CANCELED – My Turn: A Sensory Friendly Sunday

This event has been canceled due to COVID-19 stay at home orders

For more than 10 years, Ann Arbor with Kids has been a reliable source of information for our community. We will continue to provide updates on events and activities that are open under government guidelines. This does not constitute an endorsement or a suggestion that we jump back into a “normal” way of life. Masks are encouraged if you are out in public spaces. During this time we encourage everyone to be informed and do what they feel is best for their own family. Where readily available we have shared social distancing precautions being taken by the event organizers. Please follow up with them if you have any questions.

Event Description

CANCELED – AAHOM is closed due to coronavirus. This event is canceled.

Join the Hands-On Museum for My Turn, a Sensory Friendly Sunday. Families affected by autism spectrum disorders are invited to explore the museum in a sensory friendly environment with less crowds since it is held before the museum opens to the public.

The lights and noise are turned down. There will be splash protection, sunglasses, and ear protection available to help everyone enjoy the museum. There will also be a quiet room

Local autism support providers will be participating in a small resource fair to share information about services they offer.

This event is recommended for ages 5-12, however all are welcome to participate.

The event includes a kids workshop with 4th Wall Theater Company with music and movement therapy. The workshop is free with your admission, but requires a separate signup.
