DESCRIPTION:\nJoin AADL for a presentation on the art of illumination (tahz
 ib)\, with NY based artist Behnaz Karjoo. Tazhib\, often called Islamic 
 illumination\, is a traditional\, intricate art form focused on decorating
  manuscripts\, calligraphic texts\, and\, historically\, Qur'ans using gol
 d paint\, gold leaf\, and vibrant natural pigments. Derived from the Arabi
 c word zahab (gold)\, it translates to "gilding". Behnaz Karjoo began he
 r practice and earned her ijazah\, a certificate of mastery in illuminatio
 n in 2016 under a distinguished master in Turkish illumination. Behnaz Kar
 joo holds the belief that while classical arts have a timeless foundation\
 , their potential for innovation and growth is boundless.\n\n\n\nThis even
 t is in partnership with Reed Society for the Sacred Arts.\n\n\n\nFor teen
