DESCRIPTION:\nA music lover interprets sensory references in lyrics based o
 n emotions and memories that evoke lived experience. When an unfamiliar sc
 ent is encountered\, context and imagination fill in the blanks until the 
 aroma is encountered by effort or serendipity.\n\n\n\nInstead of listening
  to the music first\, we'll blind smell and evaluate plant-based scents on
  fragrance blotters related to a song that references them. This is follow
 ed by listening to the song and reviewing the lyrics for a deeper understa
 nding.\n\n\n\nOne of the most enjoyable aspects of Smell &amp\; Tell is gr
 oup sharing of sensory impressions on a voluntary basis. This offers an op
 portunity for self-discovery and connection with other curious minds. Don'
 t be surprised if you make a friend or two along the way.\n\n\n\nThe Smell
  and Tell series of art+science programming is led by Michelle Krell Kydd\
 , a trained nose in flavors and fragrance who shares her passion for gastr
 onomy\, sensory evaluation and the perfume arts on Glass Petal Smoke. Smel
 l &amp\; Tell builds community through interactions with flavor\, fragranc
 e and storytelling.\n\n\n\nSmell &amp\; Tell sessions are presented to an 
 in-person audience via a live Zoom presentation by Michelle Krell Kydd. Sc
 ents and other materials are provided to in-person attendees\n\n\n\n\n\nFo
 r teens &amp\; adults. Held in 4th floor program room.\n
