DESCRIPTION:\nGreenfield Village as we partake in a nationwide commemoratio
 n of the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence. July 8 w
 ill mark the 250th anniversary of this historic moment\, and community gat
 herings across the country will simultaneously re-create the occasion with
  synchronized public readings at exactly 6 p.m. \n\n\n\nEvening entry to G
 reenfield Village will be free to the public as The Henry Ford hosts Michi
 gan’s signature Declaration of Independence reading.\n\n\n\nEnjoy a rela
 xed evening on the Village Green brought to life with live music\, histori
 c vignettes and Centennial games. Interactive activities will offer guests
  the chance to connect with community\, reflect on history\, and explore s
 hared wishes for the future of our country. At 6 p.m.\, the same time the 
 Declaration was first publicly read 250 years ago\, a group of distinguish
 ed readers will present the Declaration of Independence in front of Town H
 all.\n\n\n\nAs our community gathers at The Henry Ford and joins voices ac
 ross the nation\, this event serves as a reminder of the power found in co
 ming together to recognize the moments that continue to shape America's co
 llective story.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event wil also include:\n\n\n\n\n1876 Cente
 nnial Games on the Green\n\n\n\nLiving History Vignettes\n\n\n\nLive Music
 al Performances\n\n\n\nInteractive Activities commemorating the Declaratio

  drink is permitted. Bags will be searched. Parking is free\, but expect c
 onstruction on parts of Oakwood Blvd to cause delays or detours.\n\n\n
