The JCC of Ann Arbor is holding their 6th annual One Candle for Tzedakah to celebrate Hanukkah by giving to families in need.
This year they are forming a new partnership with C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Please bring new items from their hospital’s wish list as a donation for children who are spending the holiday in the hospital. There will also be bears from Bear Factory available for purchase at the event for donation. Mott will set up a store for families of patients to shop since they cannot always do traditional shopping for time, energy or financial reasons..
Donations will be collected from December 1-10 if you can’t make the event but would still like to donate.
Kids under 18 will be able to choose and stuff their own stuffed animal toy from The Bear Factory. Then take each toy to Teddy Bear Clinic stations for check ups.
The event includes Chanukah dinner made in their kosher supervised kitchen:
- Mac & Cheese & Fish Sticks for kids
- Baked Salmon for adults
- Latkes with applesauce & sour creme for all
- Green Salad
Fill-your own Sufganiyot (donut holes) will be available for dessert (not certified kosher)
Ages 8+ including adults can participate in Donut “Wars” sponsored by PJ Our Way to create the best looking donut based on Chanukah themes.
